Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Tecsolut Ltd, a company registered in Israel (“we”, “us”), which runs The Book Screen at thebookscreen.com. By creating an account or using the site you agree to them. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must agree to them too, and should read them with you.

In effect from 16 October 2026.

1. Who can use The Book Screen

• Anyone can browse the public pages. To read chapters and earn points you need an account.
• Readers under 18 may use an account only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, which we ask for by email. Readers under 13 can read stories while they wait, but nothing they do is saved until a parent confirms. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
• A parent or guardian who gives permission is responsible for the child's use of the site and agrees to these terms on the child's behalf.
• Libraries, schools and other organisations that give readers access may have a separate written agreement with us. Where it says something different, that agreement wins for that organisation.

2. Your account

• Give true information, including your real age, and keep it up to date.
• One person per account. Keep your password private; you are responsible for what happens in your account.
• Tell us straight away at SharonPalchik@gmail.com if you think someone else is using your account.
• You can delete your account at any time in Account settings. A parent can delete a linked child's account in the family area.

3. Points, rewards and the shop

• Points are earned by reading and answering. They have no money value, cannot be bought with money, and cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged for cash.
• Characters and other shop items are a licence to use them on The Book Screen. They are not property, and they end when the account is deleted.
• We may change how points are earned, prices, rewards, chests, leagues and the shop, and we may correct points or items that came from a mistake, a bug, or cheating.
• Rewards or coupon codes offered by us or by partners are subject to the conditions shown with them, and may end.

4. Our stories and content

The stories, illustrations, videos, voices, questions and design of The Book Screen are owned by us or by people who license them to us, and are protected by copyright and other laws. Some classic stories are in the public domain; our versions, pictures and recordings of them are still ours. You may use the content for personal, non-commercial reading and learning on the site, including in a classroom or library that has access. Please do not copy, download in bulk, re-publish, sell, or train AI models on it without our written permission.

AI characters. The characters who present Story Quest questions, activities and trailers on video are AI characters: their faces and voices are made with AI tools. Every story and question is supervised by our team. Some pictures and other videos are also made with the help of AI tools and checked by our team. If you think something on the site uses your work without permission, email SharonPalchik@gmail.com and we will look into it promptly.

5. What you write

• What you write in activities stays yours, and stays on your device: it is checked in your browser and never sent to us. Your answers to questions are saved so the site can score them and keep your progress; other readers never see them.
• Keep it kind and safe: nothing hurtful, hateful, sexual, violent or illegal, nothing copied from someone else as your own, and no personal details such as addresses, phone numbers or photos of you or anyone else.

6. Fair play

Please don't:

• use scripts, bots or tricks to earn points, skip reading checks, or get ahead in leagues;
• try to get into other people's accounts or parts of the site you are not allowed into, or test, attack or overload the site;
• pretend to be someone else, including pretending to be a parent to give permission;
• use the site to bother, bully, or contact other readers.

If someone breaks these terms, we may remove points or items, pause or close the account, or block access. Where we can, we will explain why first.

7. The service

We work hard to keep The Book Screen running and accurate, but it is offered “as is”. We may change, add or remove books, features and designs, and the site may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. Reading levels and progress reports are a guide for families and teachers, not a formal assessment.

8. Responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for losses caused by things outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or injury caused by negligence or for fraud, and nothing takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

9. Ending

You can stop using the site and delete your account at any time. We may close an account that breaks these terms, or that has not been used for a long time (we will email first). If we ever close the site, we will tell account holders in advance so they can download their information.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change matters, we will tell account holders before it takes effect. If you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may also bring a claim in your local courts.
